I was reading an interesting artical while at my parent’s for Christmas which detailed that originally blue was going to be the colour for girls (because of ‘purity’) while pink was going to be for boys (strength). This started to occur when dyes first became available as before then, only neutral colours were available for clothing or any other products really. Now, I’m not 100% sure when or what made the colour shift into what we see today, but I thought it was a good point to re-affirm that all this stuff we are assigned, purely because of ‘gender’ - is total rubbish made up by people for various stupid reasons which has nothing to do with who we are or who we should be.
Does anyone know when the colours we see for genders now first occured?
